Carolyn Vaziri

Undergraduate Intern

Carolyn Vaziri is an undergraduate intern at Perseus Strategies and a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania, double majoring in History and Political Science. On campus, she is involved with the Penn History Review, Community School Student Partnerships, Perry World House, and the club field hockey team. This summer, she will also volunteer at the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Affairs. She has served as a research assistant for two advocates in the human rights space – Andrea Shemberg in business and human rights and Dr. Stephen Damianos in digital bordering and neurotechnology. With Shemberg, Carolyn co-authored an upcoming paper on the EU’s Directive on Corporate Sustainability and Due Diligence. As the granddaughter of both an Iranian immigrant and a German-Jewish refugee, she brings a personal commitment to her interest in the refugee, migrant, and bordering space and hopes to pursue a legal career advocating for people on the move. She is very excited to begin her internship and gain practical, hands-on knowledge in the field of human rights.
