A non-profit organization is dependent on its ability to deploy its limited resources effectively. Given an organization’s understandable focus on daily activities, it can often be helpful to bring in an outside consultant to assist in facilitating a strategic planning process for the organization or an individual campaign. Perseus Strategies has extensive experience advising organizations on this important work, and has a special expertise assisting human rights, development, and humanitarian organizations.
Illustrative Past Experiences:
- Facilitated a three-year strategic planning process for a global health advocacy organization – this included completing a situational analysis that entailed interviewing more than 50 board members, staff, funders, and other key stakeholders, and ultimately proposing a final plan approved by its board of directors.
- Advised client on setting up a pro-democracy Farsi-language television station and oversaw a team of lawyers engaged on leasing space, hiring employees, buying satellite time, and a range of other services involved in the business start-up.
- Assisted organization providing services to refugee and immigrant populations in a three-year strategic planning process that resulted in a major grant from a venture philanthropy fund.
