Hannah Pierce-Carty is the Director of International Policy and Advocacy at Perseus Strategies. In this role, she leads the firm’s advocacy at the UN Human Rights Council and works closely with the United Nations, the U.S. government, and major media outlets to advance global criminal justice reform and secure the release of individuals arbitrarily detained around the world. Hannah brings a grassroots sociological perspective to her work, shaped by direct engagement with impacted communities. Prior to joining Perseus Strategies, she served as a Case Manager for Health First Colorado (Medicaid), advocating for the health and dignity of low-income individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Her passion for criminal justice reform was deepened through her work mentoring incarcerated at-risk youth in Detroit, where she led rehabilitative efforts focused on successful reentry and social reintegration. Hannah holds dual B.A.s in Political Science and International Security, Cooperation, and Norms from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with high distinction. In her personal capacity, she is the Curator-elect of the Denver Hub for the World Economic Forum Global Shaper Community, and continues to focus on the intersection of racial and gender inequity with public policy. Hannah is based in Colorado, and outside of work, she enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, and reading.
