Ivanna Ruiz

Ivanna Ruiz is an Undergraduate Intern at Perseus Strategies. Ivanna was first introduced to the public service field at the City of San Diego and the California State Assembly, where she helped expand access to government services by co-organizing district-wide resource events and managing constituent cases with state and local programs. Prior to joining the organization, she served as a Legal Intern for the community-based nonprofit, Alliance San Diego, assisting with day-to-day administrative department operations and client communication. Through this role, Ivanna was committed to supporting community members in navigating the immigration system with dignity. As a strong advocate for equitable access to healthcare, Ivanna enjoys volunteering as a medical interpreter at HAVEN Free Clinic in her free time, helping to bridge language barriers between patients and healthcare providers. Ivanna is currently pursuing a B.A. at Yale University in Global Affairs with a focus on Human Rights, Global Health, and Islamic Studies. She is passionate about promoting sustainable humanitarian assistance by exploring the intersection of global health and conflict resolution. Therefore, after graduation, Ivanna hopes to pursue a JD/MD Dual Degree, working towards a long-term career in mitigating conflict-induced humanitarian crises through consultative roles.
